About me
I started my career as a carpenter and progressed to construction and operations management. After more than 30 years on the front lines of the construction industry, I realised something was fundamentally wrong. We work around 20% longer and harder than ever, yet delays, poor quality, and low productivity still plague projects. In fact, in 2024, the Hon. Chris Penk (the current Building and Construction Minister) highlighted longer build times (19 months) and poor productivity as major challenges for the industry, finding that productivity levels have remained the same since 1985. I see this not as a series of failures but as a symptom of a deeper systemic issue.
My doctoral-level research confirmed that the lack of a unified, proactive, practical, modern data-driven system for managing quality in the New Zealand residential construction industry costs the country a staggering NZ$2.5 billion annually due to poor quality (defects and reworks). The problem isn't that we are bad at our jobs; we are operating without a framework for holistic quality.
This realisation sparked a mission: to share the insights I’ve gained and build a new, modern, simpler way of working. My approach isn’t to add layers of bureaucracy. It’s about empowering you with a simple yet intuitive model for improved profitability, using a quality-centric approach you’re already familiar with.
I’m not a consultant with a theoretical blueprint. I’m a Builder, Coach and a Partner who has been where you are. I aim to work with you to improve your outcomes with a simple system that brings clarity, control, and profitability back to your business.
I’ll show you how to expose the hidden costs in real time (the ones spreadsheets don’t find) to enable improvements and changes to your bottom line that would otherwise go unnoticed. My main objective is to start helping you build for success.
It's a lot easier than you think.
